Ian McGrane is an Associate Director with UK consultant, Integrated Transport Planning (ITP) Ltd and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation. Ian’s professional background is cemented in traffic engineering, public transport planning, with particular emphasis in BRT design, implementation, and evaluation. These unique skills has witnessed Ian assisting in the promotion of BRT in several major cities around the globe, including Lagos, Kampala, Accra, Manila, New Delhi, Amman and Cebu.
Central to Ian’s belief is that public transport should be designed around three central pillars, namely it recognises and understands the needs of the user, maximises revenue for the operator and the promoter has the regulatory and institutional support to implement and maintain a system.
Ian is a keen runner and cyclist, and in the last ten years has completed the London Marathon four times and cycled across Kenya in support of the UK based charity, Transaid.
